World’s Original Indoor Rodeo Hits Major Milestone

ORT WORTH, TEXAS, January 6, 2018 – By Matt Brockman – The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo has been called one of the truest of professional rodeos, known for valuing time-honored traditions while remaining innovative and appealing to an ever-growing audience of fans across the world. Now celebrating its 100th year, the legendary World’s Original Indoor Rodeo will bring 29 fast-paced performances destined to thrill audiences from the young to the young-at -heart.

“Holding the world’s first-ever indoor rodeo 100 years ago contributes greatly to the identity and mystique of Fort Worth,” said Stock Show President and General Manager Brad Barnes. “It’s says a lot about who we are as a community and a city.”

Ranked among the top ten Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) and Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) sanctioned events, the Fort Worth Stock Show will offer more than $700,000 to these western road warriors who will begin their 2018 stock show run in Cowtown. Contestants will compete for championship titles while bringing fans thrilling moments in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, team roping, bull riding and steer wrestling. Award-winning stock is provided through the Rafter G Rodeo Company and spectators have frequent opportunities to take in the thrills, excitement and tradition of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.
